Ryen McGee - Owner/Artistic Director
Ryen is a native of Palm Beach County, Florida. Specializing in Ballet instruction, Ryen began her career at the age of 4 at the Palm Beach Ballet Center under the direction of Joan Miller. While training in the different genres of dance and traveling to NYC every summer for classes, workshops and intensives, Ryen continued on to Alexander Dreyfoos School of the Arts, The Joffery Ballet School, and commenced her formal education at the North Carolina School of the Arts, in contemporary dance. There she studied with the likes of Brenda Daniels, Diane Markham, Sean Sullivan and the world renowned teacher and dancer Melissa Hayden, one of George balanchine's first ballerina's. Among her many accomplishments, Ryen was featured in Dance Magazine for her performance at the Alvin Ailey Theatre in NYC. Ryen has taught and dedicated herself to ACADC over the last five years and has since taken ownership. She is thrilled to continue on with the vision that was created before her at A Class Act Dance Center, and is loooking forward to many more years of growth and accomplishment!
Jennifer Prough - Ballet Mistress, Acro
Jennifer joins us as one of our Ballet, Acro, and Pre-school instructors. Her patient and attentive nature for our youngest students is a treasure to have on staff at ACADC! Jennifer has had the priveledge of studying dance throughout the Savannah area since the age of 4. Jennifer was trained by Sharon Walsh-Clark with The Savannah Dance Centre in the areas of ballet, modern, jazz and tap where she was awarded 'Most Dedicated Dancer'. She began continuing her ballet education with Mrs. Ann Inglis, former dancer under George Balanchine with New York City Ballet. Jennifer has also danced in many workshops with Frank Hatchet, Tommy Alexander, Janice Barringer, and with Sankofa Dance Theater. She also was a member of Pyfrom's Gymnastics Team where she won an All-Around Medal at the Georgia Games in Atlanta. Jennifer hopes to continue sharing her love and knowledge of dance for many years to come and is proud to be a part of A Class Act Dance Center's staff!
Mallory Hubert - Contemporary, Tap, Jazz
Mallory Hubert is a native of Brunswick, GA where she began dancing at the age of three. She trained at the Eleanor Brooks School of Dance, Southern Strut, and Golden Isles Corps de Ballet. She was the principle dancer in Cinderella and The Lion King as well as a featured dancer in Rodeo, Swan Lake, and Coppelia. During her ten years of competing Mallory received titles as Miss Dance USA, DTI Dance Ambassador, GIAHA Roberta Born Scholarship Recipient, and PDTA Tap Scholarship Winner. She was also selected to participate in the prestigious Georgia Governor’s Honors Program in 2005 as a Dance Major. Mallory most recently danced in the Atlanta-based professional contemporary company “Project 7” training under Cherrise Wakeham, a two-time Capezio A.C.E. Award nominee. Her students and choreography have successfully earned top honorsand awards at both regional and national competitions throughout the Southeast. After receiving her BBA in Management from UGA, Mallory married her college sweetheart John, a longtime resident of Savannah. They are excited to planttheir roots in Pooler and become part of the community. She is so excited to join the ACADC faculty and can’t wait to share her love of dance with so many new students and families.
Lauren Hawthorne - Ballet, Pointe/Variation
Lauren has been dancing for 22 years, and began her formal dance training under Amelia Pelton at the age of seven at Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA. Lauren is a 2014 graduate of Kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance, with a concentration in Ballet. During her time at KSU, she was a member of the KSU Dance Company for five seasons, during which she performed works by Ivan Pulinakla, Reiko Kimura, Lauri Stallings and numerous student works. While at KSU, she was a member of Nu Delta Alpha Dance Honor Society, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and also travelled to Taipei, Taiwan to study dance at National Taiwan University of Art in the summer of 2013. After graduating, Lauren discovered her passion for dance education, particularly in public education. She served as the Director of Dance at Lindley Middle School in Cobb County for one year, while also teaching privately in the Metro Atlanta and Middle Georgia areas for one year. Lauren just began her second year as the Assistant Director of Dance at Esther F. Garrison School of Visual and Performing Art, here in Savannah. Lauren is honored to be a part of A Class Act Dance Center for the 2016-2017 season!

Shannon Lowery, Guest Instructor - Ballet, Pointe, Star is born, Pilates
Shannon is an Altoona, Pennsylvania, native who began her early dance training at the Allegheny Ballet Company. Upon completing several summers of intensive training with the Orlando Ballet School and Ballet West/University of Utah, she accepted an invitation to train at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School as a year-round advanced student. After completing her senior year of high school at PBTS, she was awarded both academic and artistic scholarships as a ballet-concentrated dance major at Point Park University’s Conservatory of the Performing Arts. One of the most outstanding opportunities afforded to her during her education was to continue her dance and arts education abroad for five months in Paris, France. While in Pittsburgh, Shannon performed in works by Peter LeBreton Merz, Ernest Tolentino, Alan Obuzor, and Nikolas Petrov. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with Honors in May 2014, Shannon relocated to the Savannah area to begin her dance career as a company member with the Savannah Ballet Theatre. She is also a certified Pilates and Bodiography Fitness Method instructor. She is thoroughly excited to be so involved with Savannah’s local ballet scene and grateful to become a new faculty member at A Class Act Dance Center!
